For as much as we purport to love true outsider music here at Demolisten, you might clock us as posers considering the fairly straightforward nature of our releases thus far. Allow us to prove our commitment to psychotic bullshit with Window Phase. Window Phase is a New Jersey-based solo project of one Nicholas B. Sales, and it’s something we’ve championed loudly for several years now. While the term “defies description” is overused and rarely accurate, it applies here. Window Phase’s sound shifts from release to release, but is always held together by a sonic sensibility that is unmistakable and trademark. This guy wears Cows t-shirts and he really means it. On “Epoxy River and Super Pool”, we get Sales’ most fully realized effort yet, with genuinely tuneful tracks filtered through a funhouse mirror. If you’ve ever imagined what it would sound like if Die Kreuzen played Guided By Voices songs, here’s your answer. Indie rock via noise rock via hardcore in a way that has to be heard to be understood. And “understood” is used loosely here. In short, there is nothing else in the world quite like Window Phase, and we’re proud to put our stamp on it.
