By the time we were 45 seconds into the opening track of Kong Kong’s "The Evils of Kong", we knew we had to bring this music stateside. Luckily for us—and all of you—the denizens of Gorilla City were amenable to our offer.

We could tell you that Kong Kong is a band of incredibly clever Swedes playing an almost supernaturally catchy brand of Oi-infused power-pop, but in actuality, we’re not entirely sure that’s true. Even in our private correspondence, no human names were given; No personal details were revealed. As far as we’re concerned, Kong Kong is, as they claim, a group of sentient gorillas operating from their empire’s capital of Gorilla City, playing their signature brand of “gorilla punk”. Whatever the truth of it is, we can at least say with certainty that they put out two of the best EPs of 2020.

Demolisten is proud to present the phenomenal "Raw and Primitive" and it’s equally impressive follow up "The Evils of Kong" compiled here on a single North American cassette release, for your convenience. After the Kong Empire spreads to every corner of the earth, these songs will probably be compulsory listening, so might as well familiarize yourself with them now. It’ll be easier in the long run.
